Once she got used to them (we practiced at home before the trip), she walked in them effortlessly! They stayed on better than I expected, I only had to put one back on a few times over the 4 day trip and it was usually because she had been wiggling when I had put them on in the first place. In deeper snow, ice did get in the tops a bit, but didn't get past the velcro area so I just brushed the ice off the tops when she accidentally stepped off the trail. Highly recommend for little pups on big adventures!
