I found the lease was a thin ribbon which easily twisted. The most frustrating was the control to stop and allow the lease to expand or retract. It was difficult to get the switch in the position you wanted. On the plus side the handle was comfortable to hold and it came in nice colors.

I really like this retractable leash I have only one issue and that’s the lock I have a hard time disengaging it. It gets stuck while my dog is walking out and then it will yoke her back. I believe that’s more of a me problem then the leash problem
